剣道防具本来の目的である「守る」を追求し完成した甲手です。布団は縫い幅を広く、狭くを繰り返すことで中身は通常と同じ量（同じ重さ）で驚くべき衝撃吸収を実現させました。布団は縫いこめば縫いこむほどに中身が圧縮されて、板のように堅くなってしまいます。中身に何特殊な素材が入っていたとしても、縫いこみすぎれば意味がありません。逆に全く縫いこまなければ使い勝手も悪く、防具としての機能もはたしません。この絶妙なバランスはこのトルネードステッチでしか実現されません。普通の甲手よりも使いやすく、しっかり守れる甲手。剣道指導に力を入れる先生にお勧めな甲手です。
